¡Ü Ice cream Sundae ?

Ice Cream Sundaes were created when it became illegal to sell ice cream with flavoured soda on a Sunday in the American town of Evanston during the late 19th century. Some traders got round it by serving it with syrup instead, calling it an 'Ice Cream Sunday' and eventually replacing the final 'y' with an 'e' to avoid upsetting religious leaders

¡Ü CONEÀÇ À¯·¡

It has the folks in St. Louis hopping mad – and  more than a little embarrassed. After several decades of boasting that, like  the hotdog bun and the hamburger, the ice cream cone was invented at the St. Louis Fair in 1904, it turns out that a New Yorker named Italo Marchiony had a U.S. patent on just such an item several months before the fair opened. Marchiony had been selling lemon ice in cones from his pushcart since 1896,  and was issued a patent on his mold on December 13, 1903, after having applied for the patent in September of that year. In his application he described his
invention as being ¡°like a waffle iron and producing several small pastry cups  with sloping sides.¡± Sounds like an ice cream cone to me.
However, on a hot day the following summer at the  St. Louis Fair, Ernest M. Hamwi, a pastry baker of Syrian origin, rolled up  some of his Zalabia pastry and sold the cones to an ice cream concessionaire  who was running out of dishes. But a man named Abe Doumar claimed to  have invented the ice cream cone in a very similar way at the Fair, making a where the concessionaires gathered in the entertainment area of the Fair.  Meanwhile, a Turkish native named David Avayou, who had owned several ice cream shops in New jersey, claimed that he started selling edible cones at the St. Louis Fair because he¡¯d long known about French ice cream cones of pastry, of even of paper of metal.
It has been noted that there were around fifty ice cream stands at that Fair in St. Louis and a large number of waffle shops.   Doubtless, the 1904 Fair was the place where the cone became popular. They called it the ¡°World¡¯s Fair Cornucopia¡± Nice touch. And, in case you hadn¡¯t   noticed, it caught on.

¡Ü ÃÊÄÚÄÚÆùÙÀÇ À¯·¡

In 1919 a boy went into a candy store owned by  Chrestian Nelson, and ordered an ice cream sandwich, then changed his mind and   ordered a candy bar. Mr. Nelson then asked the boy if he really knew which one   he wanted, and the young man responded ¡°Sure I know, I want them both, but I   only got a nickel.¡± After the boy left, Mr. Nelson began to do some   experimentation, in an effort to give the boy exactly what he wanted an ice
cream candy bar. The only problem was that he could not get the chocolate to stick to the ice cream. A few weeks later, Mr. Nelson was telling a candy  salesman the problem he was running into, and the chocolates ability to stick
to other surfaces. Mr. Nelson gave it a try, and sure enough it worked.
He then made 500 bars and quickly sold them all  at the Onawa Fireman¡¯s Tournament. Convinced he had a money making idea, in 1921 he applied for a patent on his creation, then went to Omaha and tried to make his fortune. He failed miserably, and ended up racking pool balls for $20 a week just to survive. However, he did not give up, an eventually he met an ice cream company executive named Russell Stover, and they started a partnership. It turns out that Mr. Stover was a little better at marketing than Mr. Nelson. One of the first things Mr. Stover did was change the name of
Mr. Russell¡¯s 1 ounce, stickless, product from ¡°I-Scream Bar¡± to ¡°Eskimo Pie,¡±  and later that summer was able to sell a quarter of a million ice cream candy bars in just one day. Soon Eskimo Pie franchises were being set up all  over the country, and by the beginning of the warmer months in the next year, an average of over a million Eskimo Pies a day were being sold. Unfortunately,  by the next year, many franchisees stopped sending in their royalty payments, and competitors began freely infringing upon Mr. Nelson¡¯s patent. It got so bad that in 1924 the company was spending over $4,000 a day defending its patent. Mr. Stover just couldn¡¯t handle the situating, and sold his share of the company back to Mr. Nelson for $30,000.
One company that was legitimately making a lot of money off of Eskimo Pies was the U.S. Foil company. This was the company that was producing the bright foil wrappers for Mr. Nelson¡¯s product. When Mr.  Nelson told the president of U.S. Foil, R.S. Reynolds, the troubles he was having Mr. Reynolds proposed a partnership, and in 1924 Eskimo Pie became a subsidiary of U.S. Foil (now Reynolds Metals). The partnership worked out  marvelously for both sides. Mr. Nelson started working in the research division of the company and went on to patent many devices that were used by the company, and Eskimo Pie continued to flourish under U.S. Foil. Eventually EskimoPie went off on its own again, and has been a public company since march 30, 1992.
Eskimo Pie ice cream bars are now available in dark chocolate, cherry, pecan, and butterscotch. They make Eskimo Pie pudding bars in chocolate, vanilla, and chocolate-vanilla swirl. Their Eskimo Pie
frozen yogurt is sweetened with NutraSweet and is available in strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate chip. In addition, Eskimo Pie makes frozen juice bars and ice cream sandwiches under the Welch¡¯s, Weight Watchers, Nabisco, and 7UP
brand names. The company also makes Sugar Creek and Eskimo Pie brand soft-serve frozen yogurt mix.
